Compuestos activos involucrados: Alcaloides, Flavonoides, Macromol, Terpenos

Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides alleviate ulcerative colitis by restoring intestinal homeostasis.

Houttuynia cordata is traditionally used as phytoantibiotics for treating lung disease in China. Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides (HCPs) have been reported to alleviate influenza virus-induced intestinal and lung immune injury by regulating the gut-lung axis. The present study aims to investigate the effects and mechanisms of HCPs on ulcerative colitis (UC). Male C57BL/6 mice were induced by dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) to establish the UC animal model. Our results showed that HCPs significantly reduced the weight loss and the shortening of colon length in colitis mice, and relieved the path

Houttuynia cordata-derived nanoparticles stabilize mitochondrial dynamics to alleviate ulcerative colitis via the Nrf2/Ho-1 pathways.

BACKGROUND: Ulcerative colitis (UC), a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, faces limited treatment efficacy and safety concerns. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) offer a promising nanoplatform for targeted therapy. PURPOSE: This study aimed to isolate and characterize houttuynia cordata-derived nanoparticles (HDNPs) and evaluate their therapeutic potential in UC by targeting dual pathological axes: mitochondrial dynamics dysregulation and oxidative-inflammatory cascades, aiming to address unmet needs in current UC therapies. METHODS: In vitro studies using LPS-stimulated Caco-2 cells (modeling inf

BACKGROUND: Plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles (PELNs) have received widespread attention in treating ulcerative colitis (UC). However, the role of METHODS: HELNs were isolated from RESULTS: HELNs significantly reduced the severity of DSS-induced colitis in mice, alleviating colitis symptoms and histopathological damage. Furthermore, HELNs can specifically target inflamed colon tissue, regulate the immune environment, and decrease inflammation. RNA-seq analysis, coupled with the use of NLRP3 CONCLUSION: In summary, HELNs exhibit the potential to protect the colon from DSS-induced damag

Houttuynia cordata thunb. alleviates inflammatory bowel disease by modulating intestinal microenvironment: a research review.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a complex group of chronic intestinal diseases, the cause of which has not yet been clarified, but it is widely believed that the disorder of the intestinal microenvironment and its related functional changes are key factors in the development of the disease. Houttuynia cordata thunb. is a traditional plant with abundant resources and long history of utilization in China, which has attracted widespread attention in recent years due to its potential in the treatment of IBD. However, its development and utilization are limited owing to the aristolochic acid al

Seguridad y Precauciones
