BACKGROUND: Imperative need exists to search for new anti-TB drugs that are safer, and more effective against drug-resistant strains. Medicinal plants have been the source of active ingredients for drug development. However, the slow growth and biosafety level requirements of MATERIALS AND METHODS: Crude methanolic extracts, obtained from the leaves of RESULTS: The three methanolic extracts inhibited mycobacterial growth in vitro. They were more active against rifampicin-resistant strain with MICs of 176, 97, and 45 µg/mL for CONCLUSIONS: Leaves of
PubMed: 35284659Prospects of Botanical Compounds and Pesticides as Sustainable Management Strategies Against Spodoptera frugiperda.
Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) (fall armyworm) is an extremely destructive insect pest that causes crop losses, especially cereal production across the world. Its management is challenged by its high migratory ability, polyphagous nature, high fecundity level, and short life cycle. It has become a serious threat across the globe that requires proactive and coordinated regional and global interventions. Although synthetic insecticides have been widely utilized to control the pest, there are numerous inherent challenges associated with the overreliance and overuse of

Poisonous plants cause tremendous economic losses to the livestock industry. These economic losses are deterioration in their health, decreased productivity, deformed offspring, and reduced longevity. The current study is the first comprehensive report on poisonous plants of Azad Jammu and Kashmir which systematically documents the phytotoxicological effect and mode of action in livestock. The information was gathered from 271 informants including 167 men and 104 women through semi-structured interviews and literature search through available databases. The data collected through interviews wa
PubMed: 35544538Evaluation of the inhibitory potential of bioactive compounds against SARS-CoV-2 by in silico approach.
CONTEXT: The COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 19) pandemic brought on by the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) has stimulated the exploration of various available chemical compounds that could be used to treat the infection. This has driven numerous researchers to investigate the antiviral potential of several bioactive compounds from medicinal plants due to their reduced adverse effects compared to chemicals. Some of the bioactive compounds used in folklore treatment strategies are reported as effective inhibitors against the proliferative and infective cycles
PubMed: 38321299Seguridad y Precauciones
